The first race of the season certainly didn't disappoint, with a race full of incident fom start to finish EVO F1 fans were treated to an Aussie speed fest that was high on thrills and full of spills.
Pre-Race favourite and Evo F1 debutant James Onslow-Major wowed fans, converting his pre season form with a flawless victory by taking both pole and the race victory with relative ease. It is early days but few would bet against him showing his dominance in further races and fully justifying his tag as the man to beat.
Behind the McLaren ace Bluerat put in a strong second place, despite falling foul of the inevitable first corner crunch with a fantastic recovery drive. Ged the Dev showed his experience with a solid 3rd place, despite his preparations being hampered by his late arrival to the track. Other notable performances were Kieran D'A's 4th position and a encouraging 5th for Scottish stalwart James Burns.
The races major talking point was the huge crash involving Sauber number 2 Bob Jenx and Ferrari's sole representitive Kris Pope. An overly aggressive defensive move borne from naivety rather than maliciousness saw wheels lock and the Ferrari machine flipping into the tyre wall and out of the race.
Congratulations James on the maiden victory, we look forward to the next race as the season train moves north to Malaysia, a race that can often bring mixed weather and mixed fortunes.
